Hanjin slot charters on Evergreen service

JOY ORLEK KOREAN MAJOR Hanjin Shipping Company is the latest entrant into the Asia, South Africa and South America trade. Evergreen Marine Corporation has signed a slot-charter agreement with the line on its ESA service calling at Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian and Singapore in Asia; Durban and Cape Town in South Africa; and Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Santos in South America. The agreement came into effect with the sailing of Ever General from Shanghai on July 30. Hanjin Shipping operates 145 vessels that cover 80 major ports in 35 countries. In addition it operates 11 dedicated terminal facilities. Its 200 offices and third-party agents are spread across 53 countries. This is the line’s first entry into the South African market.
