Global Commodities adds bonded warehousing facility

Cape Tow n-based Global Commodities has upgraded its Paarden Eiland warehouse to include a 1600 m2 registered bonded warehouse as well as a walk-in, ultra secure area for high value cargo. The bonded area is easily accessible and meets SA Revenue Service’s stringent security requirements, says co-owner Wynand Vletter. The secure area features a goods lift from street level that adds an extra dimension to accessibility and security, he told FTW. The 5 600 m2 warehousing facility was established two years ago by Vletter and co-director Kotze van Wyk to provide a warehousing option with loading and offloading facilities, shrink wrapping, clearing, consolidation and distribution services in close proximity to Cape Town harbour. “The additional facilities are available for immediate use,” said Van Wyk who believes that flexibility is one of the service benefits that the company can offer. “We’re always happy to meet with clients to discuss and design the best possible solutions for their warehousing and logistics needs. Because we’re the new boys on the block, we’re able to offer highly flexible solutions at competitive rates as well as individualised and personal service.” Global Commodities is equipped to handle imports and exports to and from South Africa and into the rest of Africa.
