Shippers and their agents

wanting to compare the

different port options in the

region are in for a long haul

– one of the scarcest

commodities is fresh

information.

Investment in

corridors and

ports mean that

they may offer

significant

savings on time

and overall

logistics costs.

But many

of the official

port websites have

not been updated

for years, and reports by

institutions such as the

World Bank and African

Development

Bank

make

use of outdated statistics.

FTW is the only source

of fresh information on

developments in the ports

and the supporting rail and

road infrastructure.

In addition to our

weekly news and features,

a special report – Southern

African Corridors –

Opportunities and Threats

– published last year

outlines the advances being

made on the Walvis Bay,

Lobito, Dar es Salaam,

Nacala, Beira and Maputo

corridors. For a copy of the

report email antonm@
