Fold-up boxes find a market in consolidations

KEVIN MAYHEW THE REVOLUTIONARY fold-up cardboard box and pallet combination developed in South Africa has not only found its niche in the airfreight sector, but has also proved a popular option for consolidators, according to the MD of Mitchell Packers, Greg Mitchell. A world first, the combination is available in three sizes, weighs up to five times less than its wooden alternative, and is waterproof as well. “We always knew that it would have an application for airfreight because of its weight advantage and the little space it takes to move it round from one point to another due to its fold-down nature,” he said.
