FlySafair has introduced four new routes following its campaign asking travellers to vote and help it to decide where to fly next. The airline will now add Cape Town-Durban, Cape Town-East London, Johannesburg-Durban and Johannesburg-East London routes to its schedule.
Tickets for the new routes go on sale on July 22 for flights starting October 25. Flights between Johannesburg and Durban, Johannesburg and East London and Cape Town and East London start from R399 one way including taxes, with Cape Town-Durban starting from R499.
The airline will fly twice daily between Cape Town and East London, four times daily between Cape Town and Durban, four times daily between East London and Johannesburg (twice daily on weekends), and eight times daily between Johannesburg and Durban, according to Travelstart.
FlySafair’s campaign saw 20 000 South Africans voting, with East London to Cape Town proving the most popular, Travelstart said. Durban to Johannesburg came second, Durban to Cape Town was third, closely followed by East London to Johannesburg.
