Fears of port access delays unfounded

FEARS OF port access delays under the new security measures imposed at SA’s harbours to comply with the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) code have abated. According to Paul Rayner, MD of DTB Cartage and chairman of the Durban harbour carriers section of the SA Association of Freight Forwarders (SAAFF), concerns about hold-ups at security gates, and delays in crossing through from one port section to another, appear unfounded up to now.
