THE INSTITUTE of Export's Diploma in Export Management is attracting an increasingly diverse range of students, with engineers and chartered accountants joining the ranks in 2001. That's according to the IEX's Win Webber who believes that the distance education course provides a stepping stone to effective global competitiveness for all potential international practitioners. "It is the only recognised three-year export education programme in the country, aiming to enhance on-the-job skills as well as the analytical and problem-solving abilities of those involved in international trade," says Webber. IEX, an operating division of IMM, will hold graduations around the country in March. Top student for 2001 was Beverley Dukes of Buckman Laboratories who obtained six distinctions. "The IEX also recognises the importance of informing the international community on pertinent topics relating to international trade and will continue to hold regular networking functions," Webber said
