With a host of blue-chip
companies on its customer
list, equipment supply and
service company MSDN
Group has set its sights
on expanding its
footprint
nationally
and into
the SADC.
Headquartered in
Johannesburg, the fully blackowned
company provides dock
sealing systems, industrial
doors and docking equipment
for use in warehouses. The
machines
and doors
are all locally
manufactured
and highly
costcompetitive,
says head
of sales and
marketing
Robert
Masutha.
The
extensive range
of equipment
– from roller
shutter doors, dock levellers
and scissor lifts to dock
cushion seals and dock contact
curtain seals – is well placed
to suit the diverse needs of
the warehousing and logistics
industry. But the major
selling point is the company’s
service, says Masutha. “We
work 24/7 and guarantee
a response time of no more
than two hours for equipment
repairs and breakdowns. Over
December we
close for five
days but in an
emergency we
make ourselves
available for
our clients.
“Selling a
commodity is
a lot simpler
than selling a
service – and
we believe
that our track
record speaks
volumes.”
Compliance is a key
component of the company’s
value proposition. “We never
cut corners when it comes to
safety compliance which is
a non-negotiable for the big
name brands that have bought
into our service – Famous
Brands, Barloworld, RTT,
Imperial Group and Pick n
Pay DC to mention a few."
The family-run business
brings together the skills of
the three Masutha brothers.
While Robert was involved
in the retail industry for
14 years with the likes of
Unilever, Parmalat and
Tiger Brands, his brother
Adolph is a qualified artisan,
having worked on mines
for many years. Michael is a
boiler-maker and worked for
many years for a competitor
company. He brings his
experience to the repairs
division of the company.
Three years since its launch,
the MSDN Group believes it
has made major inroads, and
is fast delivering on its mission
statement to be the top-ofmind
brand in the industrial
doors and docking equipment
sector.
