COMPUTER SOFTWARE company Easy Clear has embarked on an aggressive marketing drive to establish itself as a significant force in Cape Town. This comes only 15 months after the Johannesburg-based company established an office at Cape Town International Airport’s cargo centre. This was followed by a move this month (March) to new, enlarged premises at Tyger Valley, an area sporting the gamut of commercial interests, many of which have relocated from the city centre. “Big plans are on the cards this year as we intend pushing the Mother City heavily by making ourselves seen and heard in the market place,” says branch manager Philip Wilson. Easy Clear writes and markets software aimed at customers in the clearing and forwarding, bond store, warehousing and other sectors. It offers a choice of several different formats, leased on a monthly basis, ranging from imports to exports, domestic and warehousing, with the entire module package also available as one offering. Easy Clear, along with several other software companies, has been involved in assisting Transnet National Ports Authority to fine tune a cargo dues EDI programme based on the same principles as that in place for customs procedures. “The NPA project, started last September, was scheduled for implementation in January but has been delayed due to certain hiccups,” said Wilson who believes the company has delivered a proven standard of streamlining and cost-cutting.
