Ed Richardson THE SEARCH is on for the Eastern Cape Exporter of the Year. There is expected to be strong competition for the award, due the success of Eastern Cape manufacturers in breaking into world markets. Eastern Cape Exporters club chairman Roel van Oudheusden has urged local companies in the manufacturing, services, wholesale/ distribution and agricultural sectors to enter for the awards. Entry is open to all enterprises that have been in operation for at least two years and are located within the borders of the Eastern and Southern Cape, including the Klein Karoo. Companies are judged according to their entrepreneurial export flair, marketing export flair, export innovation, the realisation of opportunities, growth in turnover, increase in export turnover in relation to gross turnover, and the development of employee skills.
