Dubai forwarder opens SA office

DUBAI-BASED Swift Freight International has opened its first South African office in Durban, complete with a 2 000sq/m warehouse which includes cold storage facilities. The office, situated in Congella, is the company’s 33rd internationally and its 21st on the African continent. It offers a full logistics service for both sea and airfreight consignments, as well as marine insurance and a land transport brokerage service. “We opened on December 1 last year and have benefited immediately from the improved rate of exchange for imports,” says import manager Vanitha Naidoo. “We handle groupage air freight importsand exports, while the sea freight export volumes we find are strong. Peanuts have become a big market forus in our short time of operation.”
