A team of engineers from the University of Oslo in Norway have set a Guinness world record by lifting a 61kg load using a remote-controlled drone.
The drone, named the ‘megakopter ‘, was constructed from eight hexacopters that had been wired together. The daisy chain, as it is known, uses 13 rotors powered by four dozen individual motors mounted on an aluminium plywood frame.
