‘Don’t work against the system’

Inadequate infrastructure,

corruption and non-tariff

barriers are par for the course

when trading in

Africa.

But the

answer, says

Kingfisher

Freight

managing

director Alwyn

Nel, is not to

work against

the system but

to effectively set

in place operational processes

and structures that allow you

to either minimise or bypass

the obstacles and facilitate the

smooth flow of cargo.

It’s a philosophy that has

worked for the company

which has not only grown

existing business but has

brought on board new

clients, says Nel.

“The SADC region

continues to be an

area of immediate

focus – although

we’re finding growing

business opportunity

in East and West

Africa.”

Key to growth for any

company moving into Africa is

footprint, says Nel. “We have the

representation

to assist our

clients and

agents with

services and

infrastructure

that was not at

their disposal

before – and in

so doing open

new markets

for them,

effectively

a win-win

situation.”

INSERT & CAPTION

We’re finding growing

business opportunity in

East and West Africa.

– Alwyn Nel
