KEVIN MAYHEW DEMAND FOR the transport of time-critical express airfreight cargoes moved directly from Johannesburg International Airport to their destinations has grown, says managing director of Shipping and General Transport, Regan Moodley. The company specialises in moving cleared cargo from ports or JIA and delivering it directly to consignees anywhere in South Africa. Initially focusing its services on clearing agents, it extended its network to include JIA five years ago. He said the company was bringing on board anchor clients that would enable it to service key nodes regularly such as Rosslyn and its AIDC facility outside Pretoria. “We are currently moving spare parts that are critical to production for a major manufacturer at AIDC and will look into providing services for a number of other companies that do not conflict with the anchor client to provide a more regular and cheaper service,” he said. Shipping and General Transport maintains its own fleet of vehicles for its deliveries nationwide.
