Customers applaud holistic IT solution

Effective IT infrastructure is a crucial element in integrated information logistics management, says sales and marketing manager for Compu-Clearing, Nachi Mendelow. “It facilitates global collaboration, improves customer service and saves time and money – and our ediEnterprise system – which was launched in South Africa four years ago in partnership with CargoWise – delivers all these outcomes and more,” he told FTW. “By combining ediEnterprise, a global logistics and forwarding software system, with Compu-Clearing, our local customs engine, we have effectively brought to South Africa, a world-class system with complete localisation,” says Mendelow. “Forwarding is about managing information,” Olaf Leibich, IT manager for Transworld Cargo,” told FTW. “Prior to the company’s implementation of ediEnterprise,” he said, “we used different systems for the daily tasks which required a significant amount of manual input and rekeying of data. “The integrated approach from ediEnterprise lets us have all relevant information easily accessible and further enhances the service quality we can offer our client,” he said. Norman Nicholson, business development director at LTG Logistics Transport Globally, finds the system equally effective. “The positive growth in LTG’s volume over the past two years necessitated the implementation of a system that would not only complement current and future administration demands but could offer a holistic solution with modules covering operations, finance, warehousing, tracking, CRM as well as global options to link international offices. “EdiEnterprise was the right solution,” he said. “It allowed for our newly established office in Düsseldorf, Germany to link directly into the South African operation, as though by mirror image,” he said. “What makes the system so user friendly is that it is web based,” he adds. Mendelow says that that there are now 17 companies live on the system in South Africa. “It can drive value for small, medium and large companies, with free training offered on all systems monthly in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.” INSERT & CAPTION Facilitating global collaboration and improving customer service.’ – Nachi Mendelow
