CSC bags several new players in Cape Town

ALLAN BOOYSEN is feeling pretty bullish about the performance of Cargo Service Center's handling facility at Cape Town International Airport.
Still in its infancy - the branch became fully operational on November 5 last year - Booysen told FTW he had every reason to be pleased with the state of affairs thus far.
When last interviewed by FTW and while the dust was still settling on CSC's 3 088sq m premises in the Airport Company's new Cargo Terminal, Booysen vowed he would be out to capture a larger slice of the Cape's airfreight handling market, which included targeting at least six international carriers.
CSC, the largest independent cargo handling company in South Africa, was awarded the Virgin International contract when the airline initiated a once-weekly flight to the Mother City on December 4 - since increased to two flights a week.
CSC also handles KLM Royal Dutch Airlines' daily flights into Cape Town.
British Airways World Cargo is also coming our way with six flights a week into Cape Town from March 1, said Booysen.
