Crossair plans cargo wing

SWISSCARGO will be dissolved by the end of March as part of the Crossair takeover of bankrupted Swissair's operations. Crossair plans to establish its own cargo wing in due course, according to reports from the company's Zurich head office. In terms of the current agreement which will keep the airline afloat until the end of March, Swissair is responsible for all long-haul flights while Crossair handles European and medium-haul operations. Swissair will continue to include Johannesburg on its routings at least until that time. Crossair, a subsidiary of the holding company SAir, has said it will start plans for its own cargo wing, which is expected to operate on an international scale after March.
