THE FINAL conference programme for Transafrica'98, Africa's premier ports, shipping and freight transport event which takes place in Johannesburg from March 9-11, is now available.
For the first time four major African transport and cargo handling conferences, FoodTrans Africa, Intermodal Africa, BulkTrans Africa and AirFreight Africa as well as a major exhibition of transport services and suppliers, are being brought together in a single event.
Designed to meet the information needs of shippers, forwarders, transport operators, ports and airports and key service suppliers, it is organised by London-based Baltic Conventions.
FoodTrans will debate the current and future export market for Southern African perishable products.
Intermodal Africa will focus on trade and transport policy and evaluate how the growth of emerging markets will impact on transport investment and operations.
BulkTrans Africa will discuss the current and future provision of ports, shipping and inland distribution systems to support Africa's bulk trades.
AirFreight Africa will examine a wide range of issues affecting air transport activities in sub-Saharan Africa.
Further details are available from organisers Baltic Conventions' Cape Town office on (021) 689 1124.
