A NEW community resource centre dedicated to the memory of the late Madiba Thembekile Mandela has been handed over to the community of Nkondlo (near Umtata) in the Eastern Cape.
Thembekile Mandela, eldest son of President Nelson Mandela and his first wife Evelyn, was born in 1946, the year of Safmarine's birth. Tragically he died in a vehicle accident while still in his 20s.
This resource centre, the latest of Safmarine's Containers in the Community projects, will be managed by the SA Red Cross in co-operation with the local community.
