Innovative and creative valuepacked events as well as a mentoring programme are on the cards for members of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport South Africa (Ciltsa) in 2009. Speaking at a luncheon in Bryanston last week, Ciltsa president Barlow Manilal said the organisation had a growth plan in place with clear objectives that would see them increase membership. “Our aim in the next few years is to take this organisation and grow its stature. Innovation and creative plans will be used to achieve this.” He said a framework had already been developed for a mentorship programme, something Ciltsa considered very important. “We have identified possible mentors from our members and are signing memorandums of understanding with the various universities. We expect to launch the mentorship programme next year.” The programme will allow students to actively engage with the working sector.
