TERRY HUTSON THE NEW weekly Far East - South Africa – South America service (SEAS) involving shared vessels of CMA CGM, China Shipping (CSCL) and Maruba, has added considerably to the available slots on a trade route that normally experiences a regular shortage, Paul Scannel of Seaclad Maritime, the South African agents for CSCL, told FTW. He added that although the announced schedule excludes Durban from the eastbound voyage, China Shipping will provide calls at Durban for at least the first two voyages on their way back from South America to the Far East. “These two voyages will be operated exclusively by CSCL with the first vessel, CSCL Napoli, due in Durban on May 8 and arriving in Brazil on about May 18. She will leave Santos on about May 30 for Durban again where her ETA is June 8 to discharge from ECSA and to load for the Far East.” Durban remains a call on westbound voyages.
