China is hoping to push its two-way trade with Mozambique to US$5 billion by 2018, the Chinese ambassador to Mozambique, Li Chunhua, was cited by Mozambican news agency, AIM, as saying.
In 2014, trade between the two countries stood at US$3.62 billion (119.79% more year-on-year), in which US$1.96 billion (a 64.55% increase) represented Chinese exports and US$1.65 billion (266.37% increase) was Mozambican exports to China.
In the first quarter of 2015, trade between the two countries reached US$587 million (37.02% increase), with China selling goods worth US$447 million (52.91% increase) and purchasing goods worth US$140 million (3.04% increase).
