China promises further compromises

FOLLOWING THE SA textile and garment industry and union body Cosatu expressing dissatisfaction over a draft agreement signed up last December designed to reduce China’s exports of cheap clothing to SA, department of trade and industry (DoT&I) officials have just revisited China to renegotiate the agreement. Chinese ambassador to South Africa, Liu Guijin, said his government had made further compromises on exports to SA.
