Marking a major milestone, air charter company Chapman Freeborn this year celebrates 40 years in business. The company kicked off operations in London, adding a Frankfurt office in the early eighties with the sole intention of growing the cargo sector. Since then it has expanded into Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia and Australasia. From moving a 100-ton piece of energy equipment to South America to delivering hundreds of tons of aid for the many relief organisations with which it works in Africa and elsewhere, Chapman Freeborn’s cargo activities are diverse, said co-founder Chris Chapman. The company has been voted Air Cargo Charter Broker of the Year at the World Air Cargo Awards for the last six consecutive years, while it was named Cargo Charter Broker of the Year in 2012 and 2013 by industry publication Air Cargo News. “The secret to our success,” said Chapman “is that after nearly 40 years we still believe in the ‘one size does not fit all’ philosophy. Our brokers are creative and innovative and our focus has always been on building long-term relationships with both clients and suppliers.” CAPTION Chris Chapman … ‘one size does not fit all philosophy.’
