CFR to name BEE partner

Software facilitates global LCL solution NEUTRAL INTERNATIONAL consolidator CFR Freight has moved forward with its empowerment strategy. Negotiations are underway to integrate a BEE-entity as a new partner in the company, managing director Uli Hatesohl told FTW. “We truly believe that this is the route to go, and we are very positive about it,” said Hatesohl. “We also have a dream to introduce a true global solution for LCL cargo around the world,” he added. “Our own operational software is almost complete, and this will allow us to link up via EDI with our major overseas partners.” In practice this means that cargo can be moved within one system from any place to any place in the world, and all documentation can be prepared and released in South Africa. Clients will then be invited to join in and obtain access to a comprehensive tracking and tracing system, he said. CFR’S restructured airfreight division, which also operates as a strictly neutral wholesaler, has grown significantly over the past few months, and the company plans to open airfreight offices and warehouses at the coastal centres in the near future. “After nearly 15 years in business we are now able to offer a “one stop solution” for sea and air to our clients in the freight industry,” said Hatesohl.
