The efficiency of the Maputo
cabotage terminal, which was
taken over by the Maputo Port
Development Company last year,
was put to the test during the
recent Mozambican elections.
Government vehicles,
campaign materials, voting
equipment and other supplies
were shipped to the north of the
country through the terminal.
“We are now able to offer a
full door-to-door service to any
destination in Mozambique,”
says the development company’s
commercial director Johann
Botha.
There is growing demand for
break-bulk cargo
to Nacala in
particular, he
adds.
