There’s possible business for an SA shipping services company in Angola.
The state-owned fishing company, Pescangola, is looking for such a company to manage a floating ship repair dock, purchased about two years ago by the ministry of fisheries.
The steel structure is 60 metres long and 26m wide, allowing dry repair operations and painting of vessels 15m-50m long, and is primarily aimed at servicing the ships exploring resources off the Angolan coast.
The Fisheries Training Centre (Cefopesca) is currently running a training course for Angolan technicians to operate the floating dock.
