As South Africa’s depressed

economic climate translates

into heightened economic

risk, businesses are well

advised to remain on high

alert.

“The general economic

climate has exposed an

increasing number of

businesses in our industry

to seek business rescue or

liquidation which is a massive

risk to all in the supply chain,”

said Stephen Bishop, general

manager for airfreight at

neutral NVOCC CFR Freight.

“Having skilled and

motivated staff using the

latest technology definitely

has a big impact on how

a company manages risk.

Just as important is to

promote an ethical and

socially responsible working

environment and work with

people and companies that

have the same values.”
