The US planemaker, Boeing, reports that Indian airlines will need 1 740 new aircraft by 2034 (at a book price of US$240 billion) to keep up with a fast-expanding aviation market.
It added that 84% of these would be single-aisle, while 15% would be wide-bodied aircraft.
This is an 8.75% increase over its previous forecast a year ago when it estimated Indian demand at 1 600 planes with a book price of US$205bn.
