ZIMBABWE'S RAIL outlets through South Africa and Beira have been restored, with the port at Beira reopened over the weekend and the railway line to Beitbridge operating normally.
A spokesman for Cornelder, which manages the Mozambican port, said today that all berths for shipping had been reopened and that the entrance channel was clear. Although a number of fishing trawlers and a coastal freighter were sunk by cyclone Eline, they are no danger to shipping.
National Railways of Zimbabwe says that both the lines from Bulawayo and Gweru are open, with a washaway just outside Beitbridge having been repaired over the weekend.
