AMI, the wholesale consolidation arm of the Menzies Aviation Group, has acquired the businesses of MMA South Africa effective immediately. The company will be rebranded AMI MMA but it will be ‘business as usual’ with minimal operational change, MMA’s Mike Todd told FTW following the official announcement last week. “MMA has represented AMI in South Africa for several years and has built up a close affiliation through the similarity in our wholesale philosophies and business culture,” said Todd. “This step opens up great opportunities for ourselves working within the Menzies Aviation Group and particularly with the AMI offices in the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand and China. Advantages in automated systems and buying power and an increase in our wholesale network coverage worldwide are a few benefits that will accrue.” There will be no staff changes and the company will continue to operate from its current premises in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
