CANADIAN ALUMINIUM giant Alcan will conduct a new feasibility study into the construction of a smelter in Coega.
Both the South African government and the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) are assisting with the study, according to a statement issued by Alcan in Montreal, Canada.
Alcan took over the Coega aluminium smelter project when it bought French firm Aluminium Pechiney at the end of last year.
