Air France is getting tough with its pilots’ union.
According to Airwise News, it is threatening to cut 10% of its long-haul network by 2017 unless pilots accept cost-cutting changes to their work conditions.
This is in an effort to increase its long-haul routes’ profitability – aiming at making 80% of them profitable compared to its currently rather-miserable 50%.
According to informed sources, Air France may also target a small number of long-haul flights as low-cost routes.
