AIR FRANCE Cargo will offer more space on the Paris-Johannesburg route when it switches to a Boeing 747-400 from January 7 next year. This aircraft will be available until end-March after which the situation will be reviewed. The early retirement of Airbus A310-200s and A310-300s which is currently under way will continue until January. This will enable the airline to use aircraft with larger capacity and therefore increase hold capacity on routes to and from Africa, says a statement issued from its Roissy headquarters. It's part of a new winter schedule which has been adapted to market conditions and the new international economic climate.
