United States assistant trade representative for Africa, Florizelle Liser, has underscored the US Government's commitment to making the African Growth and Opportunities Act (Agoa) more viable in the next decade.
Addressing the media prior to the Agoa Forum in Gabon which ended yesterday, she said African entrepreneurs could make significant inroads into the US market by taking advantage of the trade agreement.
Quoted in Nigeria’s The Nation Online, she said the Act had in the past 15 years opened business and investment development between the US and its partners.
“African countries, in the period under review, tripled export of their non-oil products into the US,” she said.
