Addressing port and customs issues

In the final stages of completing its new interactive website, Sanguine Logistics International is also taking the time to strengthen its footprint in East and West Africa, according to MD Lesley Haw. “Success in the project cargo arena is highly dependent on solid relationships that are often forged during times of challenge,” she said. “One also has to constantly anticipate any potential problems and/or risks.” According to Haw, port delays continue to be frustrating but working closely with the various stakeholders is helping to address the situation. “The same can be said of border delays. We spent the best part of 2013 addressing some of the big challenges we had at borders by meeting with foreign customs officials to gain a better understanding of their requirements, processes and procedures.”
