While Johannesburg is still
the main airfreight gateway
into Africa, there has been an
increase in business for CFR
Freight’s airfreight division at
the coastal branches, with new
capacity being added to both
Durban and Cape Town.
“We continue to grow with
our AirCargo Group partners –
African Express and several other
local heroes – and we are positive
that this growth trend will
continue,” said Stephen Bishop,
airfreight general manager of
CFR Freight.
According to him,
opportunities for growth on the
continent are strengthened by the
fact that CFR can now offer DAP
(delivered at place) solutions into
80% of the African countries it
serves.
“Nigeria, as the largest economy
in Africa, is currently the most
attractive trade destination for
our customers,” said Bishop. He
added that cross trading into
Africa from China and the United
States (US) had also increased,
creating further opportunities for
growth.
