Acquisition adds domestic logistics muscle

The fast-growing technology solutions provider, CargoWise, has extended its reach into domestic logistics with the acquisition of Australia’s leading domestic transport and logistics software vendor, TransLogix. In turn, this will be added to its edEnterprise system, the industry’s only integrated, single-platform, supply chain logistics management system with global capability. This is shared with its local partner, Compu-Clearing, SA’s freight software provider for the past 30 years. “As we bring this worldclass supply chain solution to sub-Saharan Africa, we look forward to what the future holds,” said Compu- Clearing executive, Moshe Zulberg. “The deal will provide CargoWise and Compu-Clearing with comprehensive domestic transport knowledge to complement our existing international logistics software expertise.” Said CargoWise CEO, Richard White: “The addition of the TransLogix domestic transport software skills will give customers all aspects of freight operations – door-to-door, road, rail, air and sea, and across borders. “The combined business will have the capacity to dramatically increase the level of research and development investment, accelerate the creation of new software capabilities, expand into new geographies and become far more competitive in the core market.” TransLogix founder and CEO, Anselm Waterfield, will be assisting in the integration and transition of the business. “This represents a logical strategic step for TransLogix, which has a long and successful track record,” he said. “As part of CargoWise we will be able to extend and invest extensively to meet our customers’ needs.” CAPTION: Moshe Zulberg … adding comprehensive domestic transport knowledge.
