Latest research commissioned by flexible workspace provider Regus shows that a third of workers in South Africa now work from outside one of their company’s main offices for half the week or more - and only 25% say they mostly work from home.
The survey, which canvassed over 370 business people in South Africa, aims to provide a snap-shot of the world of work today. It found that while remote working was clearly the norm, it certainly was not synonymous with home working, with only a minority working exclusively from home (12%). Workers suggested that they worked remotely in order to remain productive while travelling to and from meetings within the same city or in other cities (59%).
A quarter (25%) of respondents select business centres for remote work while 22% of business people would settle for noisy cafes while working on-the-go.
