Zambian forwarders move closer to Saaff

Kevin Mayhew THE ZAMBIAN Freight Forwarders Association is to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the South African Association of Freight Forwarders (Saaff) to facilitate better flows of information between the two representative bodies. The chairperson of the Zambian association, Valerie Sesia, said it would be signed as soon as the new board of Saaff had been finalised. Saaff is also undergoing internal changes to meet the challenge of some of its members to form an alternative body. “The freight systems are so intertwined that better flows of information are to our advantage. We see a good relationship with the South African body as a step in the right direction,” explained Sesia, who is also managing director of local company Customized Clearing and Forwarding in Lusaka.
