VETERAN JOURNALIST
Ray Smuts has been appointed Western Cape correspondent for FTW. With more than two decades in newspapers and television behind him - he served as assistant news editor of the Sunday Times for eight years - and a good spell in public relations after that, Ray has returned to what he enjoys most, writing. In his earlier days he covered the shipping beat for newspapers in Port Elizabeth and Durban and assignments included several major shipping disasters off our coastline. He admits to having a fascination with everything connected with seagoing. You can contact Ray with all your news by calling (021) 434 1636.
