Worldwide Flight
Services (WFS) was
named International
Ground Handler of the
year at the Stat Media
Times awards held in
Mumbai recently.
The nominated cargo
handling company for
the Dube Tradeport
Cargo Terminal, WFS
picked up its first award
last year when it was
named runner up in the
Africa cargo handling
category.
The company’s
African operations
began with the opening
of the new King Shaka
International Airport
on May 1, 2010. Senior
vice president for Africa,
Alex McRoberts, sees
the award as welcome
recognition of the
company’s achievements
globally.
The awards are
aimed at a number of
larger global handling
companies as well as
local handlers. The
winners are chosen
by online surveys
completed by global
airlines, freight
forwarders, agents and
airports authorities.
