Buildings constructed to client specifications KEVIN MAYHEW WITH VERY little quality warehousing stock available to meet demand, Gauteng-based developer Improvon is constructing warehousing premises specifically designed to cater for warehousing, distribution and logistics companies. Improvon is unique in the way it conducts its business, providing property development, construction, management and investment for the development of all of its projects, according to the company’s marketing manager, Grant Lewington. It constructs to clients’ specifications but owns the buildings within a larger investment portfolio. The clients become long-term tenants. “The current trend is towards larger premises which provide effective solutions for the companies that require and operate large warehouses under one roof,” he explains. Currently Improvon is developing five new facilities for a number of clients in Gauteng and Cape Town. It recently completed a 23 000 m2 facility for The Edcon group at Aeroport on the East Rand, close to Johannesburg International Airport.
