Neutral ocean freight consolidator Vanguard Logistics has expanded its global network with the acquisition of local independent NVOCC, International Liner Agencies.
“This builds on recent regional expansions in Egypt, Turkey, India and Indonesia,” said Vanguard chairman and CEO, Charlie Brennan. He sees the ILA acquisition providing a platform for further expansion and partnerships within the African sub-continent, which he believes will be a growth engine for the global economy in the near future.
For our customers it’s business as usual, says ILA managing director Rod Taylor. “They will however experience an expanded, seamless and single-point access to trade lanes worldwide.”
ILA will in time take on the Vanguard brand name, but the current directors and staff will continue to run the company without any changes, says Taylor.
Vanguard has more than 3 000 staff in over 90 offices and a presence across more than 100 countries.
ILA was launched 21 years ago and offers neutral groupage services to North West Continent, United Kingdom, Pacific Rim Australia and the Far East.
