Union Transport enters integrator market

UNION TRANSPORT has just signed up a global partnership agreement with Lufthansa Cargo, according to Tiger Wessels, chairman of UT and the holding company Uniserve.
The two of us working together worldwide will help us make inroads into the integrator market, he told FTW. They (integrators) are, after all, a combination of carriers and forwarders.
This agreement also combines the same two strengths. It's a matter of us - as forwarders - working in a joint partnership with Lufthansa Cargo as the carrier.
The other benefit of the Lufthansa link, according to Wessels, is that the cargo company also has access to the belly-hold capacity in the airline's passenger flights - as well as its own freighter fleet.
