Kevin Mayhew TO MEET the service demands for moving project cargo into Zambia as the mining industry grows, Unidel has opened an office in Ndola on the Copperbelt. A specialist in the movement of abnormal loads, the company delivers such cargo for mining operations within Zambia and throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Operations director, Rick de Smidt, says they are expecting significant growth in demand for abnormal haulage, container handling and breakbulk shipments, which the company also undertakes. Their warehouse, located in Pomona Johannesburg near the Johannesburg International Airport, has been set up to handle the airfreight traffic required by the industry. “We believe that mining expansion and urgent dedicated deliveries to repair breakdowns will see substantial growth and we will be there to meet the demand,” he adds.
