The Port of Felixstowe received planning consent for the first phase of its new logistics park.
The park will include four warehouses that will provide 1.4 million square feet of storage, with the largest offering 360 000 square feet.
The first phase will occupy 51 of the 68-acres total, while the remainder of the site will be developed in the second phase of construction.
This follows a month after the extension of the port’s Berth 9, which allows two of the world’s largest containerships to be worked simultaneously, and the opening of an expansion of the port’s food examination facilities valued at the equivalent of R62.2 million.
