THE UK government's Department of International Development has just launched a new fund aimed at improving access to financial services for low-income groups in southern and central Africa.
The R172-million fund will be known as the Financial Deepening Challenge (FDC). It is designed to boost small and medium enterprise which the donor institution sees as fundamental to job creation in the southern African region.
SA finance consultants, Deloitte & Touche, will manage the fund.
