Two Peters cause confusion

THE LETTER headlined Customs rating could sort out the crooks and speed up clearances (FTW April 17, 1998) has caused some confusion for the writer, Peter Worman of Island View in Durban, and Peter Curtis of Compu-Clearing, Johannesburg, to whom it was attributed.
The letter was e-mailed to FTW by Peter via a Compu-Clearing address. FTW assumed Peter to be Peter Curtis of Compu-Clearing.
It was only when Peter Curtis phoned to tell us that while he agreed whole-heartedly with the sentiments expressed, he was not the writer, that the puzzle emerged.
And he was understandably surprised by the rush of phone calls congratulating him on the excellent letter following its publication.
Our apologies to Peter Worman to whom the calls should have been directed!
