Two CBS interceptions in June

South African citrus was twice intercepted in the EU for CBS (citrus black spot) in June – both in lemon shipments, the Citrus Growers’ Association reported in its weekly newsletter.

That’s according to information published on the official site for reporting non-compliance on plant health in the EU.

Other interceptions included Uruguay-1 (mandarins); and Argentina-1 (mandarins).

The Southern Hemisphere Association of Fresh Fruit Exporters data shows that to end June South Africa had exported 187 861 tons of citrus to Europe, Argentina 52 652 tons and Uruguay 12 298 tons.
